We’ve rounded up our Favorite Places to Sweat by Neighborhood!

The beginning of the New Year often brings new challenges and new goals. If you’re like so many of us, fitness goals tend to make the top of the list! Boston is a Hub for awesome boutique fitness studios. Whether you’re looking for a cardio party or a chance to lengthen, strengthen and tone, here is a list of our favorite fitness studios by neighborhood!



Republic Boston — From the HealthWorks Group, Republic Fitness is considered high-tech and high-end addition to Two International Place, according to Boston Magazine. Whether you are looking for Personal Training, Group Fitness Classes, or a personalized nutrition plan, Republic Fitness has everything one might need. Spanning two floors of the 36-story building, Republic Fitness is just blocks from the Boston Waterfront.


Back Bay

SoulCycle — With 5 studios in the Greater Boston area, this New York based phenomenon has taken Boston by storm. Leave your troubles at the door and this 45-minute sweat session will leave you feeling revived and rejuvenated.

BSC Lab — Unlike other Boston Sports Club locations, the BSC Lab features innovative fitness programs and collaborations with Cyc Fitness and Tone House. Conveniently located in the heart of Back Bay right across from Copley Square, BSC Lab gives its members a unique fitness experience.


South End

Core Power Yoga — “Intensity for the body, Presence for the Mind,” is Core Power’s promise. With locations across the country, as well as several locations throughout the City, it is truly a city favorite. From beginner Yogis to the more advanced, Core Power offers 9 different class types at various humidity levels.  Don’t let parking scare you away either as this location offers free 90 minute parking in the lot behind their studio!

TurnStyle — A different kind of Spin studio, TurnStyle is known for their variety of class styles and bootcamp approach to choreography. With classes like, Arms, Abs & Cardio and Hip Hop Strength and Box, TurnStyle delivers a more intense workout than just your average spin class.


South Boston

btone — Basically Pilates on steroids, in the best sense of the word! If you’re looking for an intense toning and strength training workout, btone is the class for you! Based on the foundation of Pilates, this workout uses a state of the art Megaformer to help guide you through a workout you won’t soon forget.

The Handle Bar — A Southie original, The Handle Bar has been a staple across from Broadway Station since 2013. This indoor cycling studio offers clients complimentary shoe rental, so “Clipping In” is no sweat, but what happens next is! With 40+ classes a week, The Handle Bar’s 45-minute class is a great way to get in that cardio!


Downtown Boston

Barry’s Bootcamp — Just as its name implies, this bootcamp workout is a true a$s kicking! The “original high intensity workout,” Barry’s combines treadmill cardio with strength training, or you can opt for their “Double Floor” class for twice the strength training. Burn nearly 1,000 calories while you tone your muscles and sculpt the body you’ve always dreamed of.

B/Spoke — Not another spin studio, the bikes at B/Spoke track your progress for you to track and review later. With 10 different types of rides, B/Spoke has just what you’re looking for in a studio. From HOT R/DE to Hip Hop R/DE, this studio combines a holistic approach to strength and well being with a state of the art aesthetic to help transcend the busy city life.


Seaport District

Equinox — This stunning new facility is at the hub of Boston’s rising Seaport neighborhood. As Equinox’s 5th Boston location opens,  Equinox “Port House” holds true to its name with sweeping views of Rowes Wharf and nautical touches throughout its decor and finishes. Enjoy amenities like a full service Spa which offers an array of facials, messages, and even an 18K Gold Facial! Refuel post work out at the Juice bar with a smoothie! With all your favorite work out classes like weight training, HIIT, yoga, and even cardio boxing, this is the ultimate gym lover’s dream.

Everybody Fights — Because there just aren’t many things better than boxing. Everybody Fights offers classes that focus on prepping for a 12 round fight, from endurance and explosiveness to strength training.  Classes incorporate kettle belts, bags, and free weights, while the gym offers 1:1 training and Squeeze Juice bar.


Beacon Hill

Core De Vie — Tucked into Boston’s coziest neighborhood, Beacon Hill, Core De Vie is a city lover’s mini retreat. Classes range from Yoga and Barre to their exclusive Gyrotonic ® and even a Power Plate class. They also offer one-on-one sessions, acupuncture, and several Spa services. Core De Vie’s founder and owner,  Ellen Comerford, even launched a skin care line, Nantucket Nourrissant ™ which can purchased at their Charles St location. 

Beacon Hill Yoga — Home of the $10 Lunch Flow, Beacon Hill Yoga is a wonderful reflection of the community it calls home. From Power Vinyasa and Flow & Restore, to Barre and Barre Groove, this studio offers a tranquil getaway from the bustle of the city.


The North End

Exhale Spa at Battery Wharf — Exhale offers Barre, Cardio and Yoga classes, making it the ultimate source of toning and flow. They also offer private training, group packages, and even teacher trainings. Boston Magazine even named Exhale Spa one of its Best Day
